Tim and Eric left the final layover at Churchill Falls approximately 1 hour and 48 minutes behind the leaders. The leaders chose the power line route while Team 31 chose the north route. They broke trail, got stuck and couldn’t find their way out of a brook which cost them the race. But Tim and Eric did an awesome job making the time they did on that final run to the finish line. They finished just 16 minutes behind the winning team and had a 3rd place finish. The Cains Quest officials said that our team had snowmobiles that were in the best shape. They looked just like they did when they started the race despite the terrain and conditions that they had just been through for 1300 miles. We would like to thank our support crew for all their help. They were amazing: Travis Jones, Jason Paul, Tim Pottle, Chris Kruse, Corey, and Coreen Paul. It was great working with the other Jackman team #12 Russ Griffin to get through the tough places that we had to get through.
Tim and Eric spent the night in a small camp to try and rest. They will be on the move now to Sail Lake checkpoint. Yesterday was treacherous riding for them. Our support crew is ready to help. They have had some rough going too. But everyone is okay. I will be happy to see them here at Churchill Falls!
Tim and Eric on the starting line. They drew 11th starting place this year out of 26 teams. This years race is a little different. They only have 2 mandatory layovers where they can sleep and eat. And the checkpoints are so remote we can not drive to them like in 2009. So here we sit in a motel in Churchill Falls tracking them on the computer and being ready for a phone call for help if needed. Tim and Eric stopped last night for about 4 hours. Think they were in a tent! Today they are on their way to their first layover which is 18 hours long in Kuujjuaq, Quebec. Day 1 of the race was around 32 degrees f. and raining! Today it Adele Skyfall download mp3 is cold, windy and in the teens temp wise. I am sure Tim and Eric will be happy to be rid of those mandatory
